WV Rivers Coalition Raft Team takes First at
Webster Wildwater Weekend
On Saturday March 31st, 2007 the WV Rivers Coalition raft team took first place in the raft category at this year’s Webster Wildwater Weekend race. With a time of 46:39 the WVRC raft beat out defending champs and local favorites The Inflatable Egos by 38 seconds.
WVRC Development Director Joe Peabody and Board member Paul Fantetti made up the 2 man team. “Joe just kept paddling while I found all the right lines” said Paul.
The two man raft team will next race at The Cheat River Festival in Albright, WV, on May 5th. They plan to make the Harpers Ferry Outdoor Festival on Saturday, June 16 where they will race in the Tim Gavin Down River Race. They plan to pick up a few more members to fill out the raft team.
