Has the Public Been Heard on Drinking Water Protection?
Complete Our Survey to Take to Decision Makers

A new law passed as a result of the 2014 Elk River chemical leak required most water providers in WV to develop Source Water Protection Plans by July 1 of this year. The law also requires that the public be involved in the planning process. Your input into this survey will help decision makers know if the new law is working.

This past spring water utilities hosted public meetings to gather the public's feedback on their draft plans. Now that the plans have been submitted, the Bureau of Public Health is hosting public hearings to solicit input on the final versions of the plans.

Through our Safe Water for WVprogram, WV Rivers has assisted with educating the public on the planning process. Now that the process is coming to a close we want to hear your feedback. Please take a few minutes to fill out this short, anonymous 10-question survey so we can find out what's working about the process and what can be improved.

We’ll take the results to the WV Public Water System Supply Study Commission and the WV Legislature. Please complete the survey by Monday, October 31.
