Time to BE VISIBLE for Clean Water
Tomorrow, Feb. 9, two important events are on tap at the State Capitol. We need a strong public presence to show we’re paying attention! Please come, bring friends,
wear blue!

Tuesday, February 9
  • 2:00pm, Lower Rotunda under the Capitol dome – Press Conference: Citizens Unite for Water Justice
  • 4:30pm, House Chamber – Legislative Oversight Commission on Water Resources

See more info here, and invite friends to the Facebook event page!

Thank You Water Advocates!

Thank you to those who sent a total of 134 letters to urge legislators to protect our water supplies. After a long Friday afternoon in the House Judiciary Committee, the water quality standards and aboveground storage tank rules passed out of committee. Thanks to our advocacy, we saw the tank rule strengthened with an amendment for added protections when installing new Level 1 tanks or tanks on karst topography. High fives! Now the rules bundle will be voted on by the full House and the process starts over on the Senate side.

Water Resources Commission to Hear Recommendations

Again, thanks to our work at the Capitol and your calls and emails, recommendations to protect water supplies will be heard by the legislature. Tomorrow, Feb. 9 at 2pm in House Chambers, the Joint Legislative Oversight Commission on State Water Resources will receive the Public Water Supply System Study Commission’s report. Our Science Advisor, Evan Hansen, will be a featured speaker. Show your support by coming to the meeting, or you can listen live.
