Governor Signs Public Access to Drinking Water Information into Law
It's official, on April 1 Governor Tomblin signed SB 625 into law! This bill was a big focus of our efforts this legislative session, and your support took it to the finish line. SB 625 allows water utilities and agencies to publicly share information concerning threats to drinking water. It promotes transparency about potential contamination sources and supports citizen input into source water protection planning. Let’s all raise a glass of clean water and toast to this citizen-led success, cheers!

Breakthrough for the Ohio River
Some of the great folks working for the health and safety of the Ohio River.
For years ORSANCO, (Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission) the commission which sets pollution limits for the Ohio River, has been formally advised by industry. But now groups like WV Rivers will have a voice at the table.
At the request of WV Rivers and partner conservation organizations, ORSANCO approved the formation of the Watershed Organization Advisory Committee to offer formal policy recommendations on the Ohio River, which serves as the drinking water source for 5 million people. WV Rivers looks forward to representing you on the committee. The next ORSANCO meeting will be held June 7-9 in Pittsburgh.
