EPA Listening Session on Hazardous Substance Spills on Nov. 2

Were you affected by the 2014 Elk River chemical spill caused by a leaky aboveground storage tank? You have the opportunity to provide the EPA input on what you would like to see in federal regulations on aboveground storage tanks.

The US EPA will hold a public input meeting for the federal Clean Water Act Hazardous Substance Spill Prevention Rule on Nov. 2, from 5-7pm in the Coopers Rocks Room at the WVDEP headquarters in Charleston, WV.

This will be your chance to tell the EPA what you think will prevent spills from aboveground storage tanks. If spills do occur, you can describe what needs to be in place to minimize the consequences in order to protect water.

Registration for the meeting is required, please register by Nov. 1. Register here.
