These deep Appalachian forests and unique cranberry glades provide the headwaters for six rivers and clean drinking water for millions of people downstream.
But after years of enthusiasm and talk, the time has come to make this monument a reality.
Please contact Senator Joe Manchin and ask him to introduce legislation in Congress to put this important star on our state’s map.

Dear Senator Manchin,
Please act quickly to introduce and pass a bill in Congress to make Birthplace of Rivers a national monument. This is a popular idea that has been discussed for years. Now it’s time to take action.
West Virginia needs to protect its natural wonders like Birthplace of Rivers for all the blessings they bestow on our state -- clean drinking water, clean air, wildlife habitat, and outdoor recreation. We need to diversify our economy and attract more visitors, spending, and jobs for our state.
Birthplace of Rivers National Monument will put a star on the map that reminds Americans that West Virginia is a wonderful place to visit -- or locate a household or business.
Thank you. I hope to have a chance to speak with you personally about this.
