Time to Act – Help Stop the Toxic Water Bill!

The WV House has scheduled a public hearing to listen to citizen concerns on the toxic water bill, HB 2506, also known as the "cancer creek bill" for MONDAY, 2/27, at 8:30am in the House Chamber of the Capitol Building.

Let the legislature know that you think this bill is bad for West Virginia! Attend the public hearing and send a letter to your delegate asking them to say NO to HB 2506!

HB 2506 is bad for West Virginia because it would:
  • allow industrial polluters to dump more toxins and cancer-causing chemicals into our water;
  • allow polluters to be located closer together creating larger toxic hot spots
  • send the wrong message about the value our state puts on clean, safe water.
Check out our summary sheet on HB 2506 and our guide to commenting during the public hearing to learn more.

We need to turn up the pressure on the legislature! Attend the public hearing, send a letter, and take a moment to dial up your delegate and tell them to say NO to HB 2506! We're seeing that phone calls make a big impact, find your delegate's number here.

Monday is also E-Day, let's make sure our legislators know that West Virginians want safe water!
