Old Ebbitt Grill Reception Fundraiser

West Virginia Rivers Coalition will host our Potomac headwaters celebration at the Old Ebbitt Grill in downtown Washington, DC. This gala event contributes substantially to our fundraising efforts. In addition, the evening is a great opportunity for WVRC to express the critical need for the work we do and bring attention to the beautiful rivers of West Virginia, particularly the headwaters of the Potomac River.

This year we are happy to be cellebrating not only our 20th year in existance, but also the launch of the first in the state consumer medication return program. With eight participating locations across the Potomac headwater region, we are looking at a practical solution to begin addressing the increased incidence of pharmaceuticals in our waterways. Much of the current recsearch points to these chemicals as a possible source of the "intersex" fish found in recent years inthe Potomac region.

Through this program, members of the public are encouraged to bring their unused or unwanted medications to one of our participating sites where they will be disposed of through a commercial waste hauler, keeping them out of our waters. Your support of the Old Ebbitt Grill reception supports this work and our broader Potomac Campaign.
