The WVRC 30 Second Elevator Speech
West Virginia Rivers Coalition is a statewide non-profit organization with the mission of seeking the conservation and restoration of West Virginia's exceptional rivers and streams.
We are a membership-based organization with over 2800 members.
We Serve those who use and appreciate the waters of West Virginia. This includes the habitat and wildlife in the state's watersheds, but most notably, it's people: those who visit West Virginia to recreate, those who live upon the banks of the state's rivers and those who rely upon West Virginia's water resource supply.
WV Rivers Coalition works at the local, state and federal level. We work with approximately 100 watershed groups. We partner with national affiliates and state and federal governement agancies. We continually hold workshops that work to improve water quality. We consistantly advocate for stronger river protection through our state legislature and we exercise oversite on the activities of state and federal agencies to make sure they uphold pollution permits and regulations affecting the water quality of our rivers.
